Situated near the Hazarduari Palace, the Nizamat Imambara was built in 1847 CE by Nawab Nazim Mansoor Ali Khan Feradun Jah, son of Humayun Jah. It was constructed after the Imambara built by Siraj-ud-Doula caught fire and completely destroyed. A must see attraction for history buffs, it is the largest Imambara in Bengal. Few interesting facts about the Nizamat Imambara include: It was built at a cost of more than 6 lakhs. It took only 11 months for its construction. It is owned by both Archaeological Survey of India and the Government of West Bengal.
