A replica of Lord Jagannath Temple at Puri is being constructed here at Khanikar Tea Estate area. Most of the workers here were from Odisha and hence devotees of Lord Jagannath. When Mr. J. B. Pattanayak was the Governor of Assam, he took keen interest to construct this temple and managed fund from many sources. Though the temple was practically incomplete at that stage, he was inv ited to inaugurate the door of the temple, as he was on verge of his completion of hos term as Governor. However, it is mainly funded by Jagannath Cultural Society. Beautifully crafted in red stone and typical architecture, this temple is built on a well spread out area. The main sanctum is on a high elevated platform. The temple has a motor-able approach road bordering green tea gardens.Soothing clean atmosphere without any rush. A must see place to be visited, when in Dibrugarh.
