Nehru botanical garden Travel Guide

Located ahead of Rumtek Monastery, Nehru Botanical Garden is home to tropical and temperate plants as well as trees. One can spot rare flora like Orchids of Himalayan region housed here. The Nehru Botanical Garden was established in 1987 and is managed and maintained by Forest Department of Government of Sikkim.There are more than 50 different varieties of trees here. Additionally dense temperate forest of Oak can be seen here. The Nehru Botanical Garden is located between an altitude of 1,800 metre and 2,200 metres. Apart from various trees, a number of flowers can be viewed inside the Greenhouse constructed here.A small recreational centre equipped with see-saw, swings and merry-go-round has been made for children. A winding footpath area for strolling has also been made for strolling. It serves as a retreat to nature lovers, bird lovers, photographers and children. It is a beautiful vacation as well as picnic spot. The best time to visit this garden is between the months of March and late May and October to Mid December.Open: Every day , Visiting Hours: 0800 Hours to 1830 Hours.
