Rasmancha was built in 1600 by Bir Hambir, a Malla King, and is the oldest brick temple in the town. Rasmancha is unique in a lot of ways. The temple has an extended tower encircled by hut shaped turrets and a chamber which is considered to be very sacred.During the celebration of Vaishnava Ras, all the idols of Radha Krishna of Bishnupur region used to be bought here in order to be worshipped by the public. However, it is no longer a temple today; it is an ancient monument now, being maintained and preserved by the authorities.
