The buddhist temple Travel Guide

Situated on the top of a hill at an elevation in Itanagar, Buddhist Temple is quite different from other Buddhist temples found in India. What makes it quite unique is the fact that it is one of those places where you can see stupa right in front of the temple, which is not usual in India. The temple has a yellow-roofed shrine and the temple has a Tibetan influence. Inside the stupa, you can see the portraits of a Buddhist monk. You can also see an idol of Buddha. Also, there's a tree at the end of the temple, which is believed to be planted by Dalai Lama. Do watch out for the beautiful view of the city from the temple. This is a beautiful temple which has yellow - roofed shrine. Outside the temple there is a beautiful green ground that serves the purpose of a picnic spot.

Centre for Buddhist Culture Gompa is located on top of a hill just above the Nehru Museum. Adorned with a beautiful gate at the base of the hill, a road spiraled up the hill to the gompa. The Gompa is actually near the main road but it seemed separated from the rest of the town by this small hill that stood out in the hill station. It is by far the most peaceful and serene place I visited in Itanagar. It is also a nice spot to view Itanagar from a higher point.

and in my observation it is one of the most visited destinations. Behind the Gompa and hidden behind thousands of prayer flags a life size Buddha sits calmly beneath a banyan tree. As I watched through the fluttering prayer flags, the Buddha seemed to be mediating. A young girl and her mother sat across as if they were waiting for him to open his eyes.
